The Turkish Competition Board concluded a final examination regarding acquisition of Monsanto Company by Bayer Aktiengesellschaft. The Competition Board decided that the transaction would not be contrary to Article 7 of the Competition Act No. 4054 prohibiting mergers and acquisitions leading to creation or strengthening of dominance as a result of which competition would be lessened significantly because the commitments submitted by Bayer to the European Commission concerning vegetable seed, cotton seed, corn seed and insecticides used with corn seeds removed horizontal and vertical overlaps in the Turkish market.
