2018 ICN Annual Conference

The 2018 ICN Annual Conference was held between 21 – 23 March in New Delhi. During the Conference, hosted by Competition Commission of India, various topics regarding cartels, mergers, unilateral conduct and competition advocacy were addressed. In this context, many plenary and breakout sessions covered issues such as unilateral conduct decisions and remedial actions; tools for efficient cartel enforcement; effective advocacy in the digital world; organisational design of competition agencies for effective enforcement; enforcement cooperation in mergers; vertical mergers; tender design and competition in public procurement; enhancing the impact of market studies, integrating economics in case assessment; defining and assessing market power; liability of parent companies, assessing price parity restrictions; incentives and disincentives for leniency, online markets and vertical restraints, deterrence and compensation, unilateral conduct in capital intensive industries and interaction of confidentiality and the rights of defence.
