The European Commission fined Qualcomm € 997 million as it abused its dominant position in the market for LTE baseband chipsets. The European Commission established that Qualcom prevented competition as it made significant amount of payments to Apple, an important customer, in return for not buying relevant chipsets from rivals of Qualcomm.
