Turkish Competition Board has initiated an investigation on Facebook and WhatsApp in order to determine whether Article 6 of the Turkish Competition Act prohibiting abuse of dominance has been infringed as a result of the requirement imposed on WhatsApp users to accept sharing data with Facebook. The Competition Board has also taken an interim measure forcing Facebook to stop the requirement imposed on WhatsApp users to accept sharing data.
